Fana Fish-Shaykh

Fana Fish-Shaykh:
This is the first stage. This is perfected when the Murid becomes extinct in the Tasawwur(contemplation) of the Murshid,so much so that every movement or act of the Murid becomes a manifestation of the movements of the Murshid.

The Murshid also controls all movements of the Murid. At this stage the Murid becomes extinct and merges into existence of the Master. This merger is not imaginary, but a REALITY.
***************************************

Spiritual Connection

One of the most important aspects of Tasawwuf, which His Eminence uses to permeate to his disciples, is constant contact and love (muhabat) , or 'Tassawur-e-Shaikh' with one's Pir (Shaikh). Continuous practice of 'Tassawur-e-Shaikh' leads one to build a firm contact with ones Spiritual Guide which would prevent the disciple from doing wrong and get help in times of adversity. Like seeing a policeman at the time of committing an offence would deter one from doing the crime, in the same way, by continuously being aware of your Pir's spiritual presence, externally and internally, the disciple is prevented from committing a sin.

Always try and picture your Pir whenever you are alone and do so with total love, sincerity and respect. Imagine that you are seated in the front of your Pir and that the both of you are present in the Noble court of our beloved Master, Sayyiduna Muhammad (Peace and blessings be Upon him). Then imagine that the rays of light (Nur) is descending upon the heart of your Pir, and from his heart it is being transferred to your heart. If you continue in this manner, you will be freed from all your worldly concerns and you will become spiritually elevated.

The Murid must strive to achieve the status of "Fana-Fish Sheikh" or immersing oneself into the Shaikh. Imam Ahmed Raza Qadiri (radi Allahu anhu) has explained the way to achieve this. He said: "The Murid must imagine the Murshid in front of him and place his heart below the Murshid’s heart. He must imagine that Faiz (grace) and Barakah (blessing) is flowing from Nabi (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) into the Murshid’s heart and then flowing into his own heart. After a while he will see his Sheikh’s image everywhere. It will not disappear; even at the times of Salaah the Murid will always find the Sheikh with him". [Malfuzat Alahazrat]

The following passage which Dr. Reynold A. Nicholson [The Mystics of Islam] have slightly modified, gives a fair summary of the ‘hypnotic’ process through which a dervish attains union with Almighty Allah [Exalted is He]:

"The disciple must, mystically always bear his Murshid [spiritual director] in mind, and become mentally absorbed in him through a constant meditation and contemplation of him. The teacher must be his shield against all evil thoughts. The spirit of the teacher follows him in all his efforts, and accompanies him wherever he may be, quite like a guardian spirit. To such a degree is this carried that he [disciple] sees the Murshid in all men and in all things, just as a willing subject is under the influence of a magnetizer. This condition is called 'self-annihilation' in the Murshid or Shaikh. The latter finds, in his own visionary dreams, the degree which the disciple has reached, and whether or not his spirit has become bound to his own.

"At this stage the Murshid passes him on over to the spiritual influence of the long-deceased Pir or original founder of the Sufi Order, and he sees the latter only by the spiritual aid of the Murshid. This is called 'self-annihilation' in the Pir. He now becomes so much a part of the Pir as to possess all his spiritual powers.

"The third grade leads him [disciple], also through the spiritual aid of the Murshid, up to the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) himself, whom he now sees in all things. This state is called 'self-annihilation' in the Prophet.

"The fourth degree leads him even to Almighty Allah [Exalted is He]. The disciple becomes united with the Deity and sees Him [Exalted and Invisible is He] in all things."

Munawwar Meri Aankhon ko Naat Lyrics

Munawwar meri aankhon ko

Mere Shamso-dduha kardey

Gamon ki dhup mein woh

Sayae zulfe dutaa kardey

Jahan-bani ata karde

Bhari jannat hiba kardey

Nabi Mukhtar-e-kull hey

Jisko jo chahain ata karde

Jahan mein unki chalti hai

Wo dam mein kya se kya kardein

Zameen ko aasman karde

Surayya ko sara karde

Faza main udne wale yhun

Na itraaein nidaa kardey

Wo jab chahain jise chahain

Use farmaan-rawa kardey

Munawwar Meri Aankhon ko Naat Lyrics

Nabi se jo hai be-gaana

Use dil se juda kardey

Pidar Madar Biradar

Jaano maal un par fida kardey

Suraka ko bhi sone key to

Woh kangan ata kardey

Nabi Mukhtar-e-kull hey

Jisko jo chahain ata karde

Ata karde bula kar dey

Bitha kar de utha kar dey

Nabi Mukhtar-e-kull hey

Jaise jab chahe ata kardey

Jahan mein aam paygam e shahe

Ahmad Raza kardey

Palat kar pichhe dekhey

Fir se Tajdeed e wafa kardey

Khataein karne wala main

Ataein karne wale aap

Mere Aaqa mere haq main

Ise dastur saa kardey

Khayale hazrate Hassan sey

Ham naatein sajate hain

Kami reh jaaye to puree

Bareli ke Raza kardey

Muje kiya fikr ho Akhtar

Mere yaawar hain woh yaawar

Balaon ko meri jo khud

Giriftare balaa karde

Tamannae dil e Ashraf

Bas itni hai sare Kausar

Jab Aaqa jame kausar dey

Labe Akdas laga kar dey

Hellfire is forbidden – Munawwar Meri Aankhon ko Naat Lyrics

Hanzala al Usaydi رضي الله عنه narrates that
Rasúlullah ﷺ said,

“Whoever guards the five prayers, their ablution, their timing, their bowing, and their prostration, and knowing they are the right of Allah over him, then Allah will forbid him from entering Hellfire.”
(Aḥmad)

Naat-Jag ah Ji Lagane ki dunya...

Jaga Jee Laganay Ki Dunya Nahin Hai Lyrics

Urdu Lyrics, Urdu Roman Lyrics, and English Translation
Verse 1:
Anokhi waza hai sare zamane se nirale hain,
Yeh aashiq kaunsi basti ke Ya Rab (SWT) Rehne Wale Hain.
Strange is the nutrition, (they are) apart from the whole world
These lovers, O Lord, to which town do they belong…

Verse 2:
Jahan mein hain ibrat kay har so namunay,
Maghar tujh ko undha kiya rang-o-buu nay,
Kabhi ghor say bhi yeh dekha hai tunay?
Jo aabad thay woh mahal abb hain sunay.

Many examples are there of taking heed in the world
But the sight and sound has made you blind..
Have you ever pondered on this aspect?
The castles which were once liven in are now deserted
Verse 3:
Jaga Jee Lagaanay Ki Dunya Nahi Hai,
Yeh ibrat ki jah hai tamasha nahi hai.
World is not a place of heartly affiliations
This is a place of heed, it is not a jest…
Verse 4:
Mile khaak main ahl-e-shaan kaise kaise,
Makeen ho gaye la makaan kesay kesay,
Hue name-war pe nishaan kaise kaise,
Zamin khagayi nojwaan kaisay kaisay.
Many people of status have now mixed with earth
Many with homes are now homeless
Many people of big name have become nameless
Many types of people have been engulfed by earth
Verse 5:
Ajal nay na kisra hi choda na dara,
Issi say Sikander safate behara(pe hara),
Har ek leke kya kya na hasrat sidhara,
Pada rehgaya sab yunhi thaat sara.
Time did not leave Kisraa to be!
To this same “time” Alexander got defeated
Every one left behind their wishes and left
All that will be left here (in this world)
Verse 6:
Tujhay pehlay bachpan mein barsoon khilaya,
Jawani nay phir tujhko majnu banaya,
Burhapay nay phir aakay kia kia sitaya,
Ajal tera kerday gi bilkul sifaya.
First it made you play in the childhood
In the youth it made you a lover
Old age then troubled you so much
“Time” will clear you completely
Verse 7:
Yehi tujhko dhun hai rahoon sab say bala,
Ho zeenat nirali ho fashion nirala,
Jiya karta hai kia yoonhi mernay wala?
Tujay husnay zahir nay dhokay main dala.
You are over concerned that you stay above all
That you have definitive beauty and a definitive fashion
Is this the way anyone lives who (knows) he will die?
You got deceived with the apparent beauty
Verse 8:
Woh hau aish-o-eishrat ka koi mahal bhi?
Jahan taak mein har ghari ho ajal bhi,
Bus ab apnay is jehal say tu nikal bhi,
Yeh tarzay maeshat ab apna badal bhi.
Is that castle of lofty life even a castle
When there is “Time” standing next to it
Enough now! Come out of this ignorance
And change this way of earning of yours
Verse 9:
Yeh duniya-e-fani hai mehboob tujhko,
Hui wah kya cheez marghub tujhkom,
Nahin aqal itni bhi majzoob tujhko,
Samajh lena ab chahiye khoob tujhko.
This finite world is beloved to you
Its amazing what (thing) has become your (means of) pleasure
Do you, O drowned one (in its endeavors) not have intelligence?
You should have understood it by now!
Verse 10:
Burr`hapay say paa kar payam-e-qaza bhi,
Na chaunka na cheeta na samnbhla zara bhi,
Koi teri ghaflat ki hai inteha bhi,
Junoon chor kar apnay hoshon main aa bhi.
In the old age, even after realizing your destiny
You didn’t jolted, neither corrected your ways
Is there a limit to your ignorance..?
Leave this obsession and become aware!
Verse 11:
Jab is bazm say chal diye dost aksar,
Aur uthtay chalay ja rahay hain baraabar,
Har waqt paish-e-nazar hai yeh manzar,
Yahan par tera dil behelta hai kionkar.
When all the friends have departed from this world
And continuously they are leaving still,
The view is in front of you as always..
Then (knowing all that) why does your heart is satisfied with it?
Verse 12:
Jahan main kahin shor-e-maatam bapa hai,
Kahin fikr-o-faqah say aah-o-baqa hai,
Kahin shikwa`jor-o-makr-o-dawa hai,
Gharz har taraf say yehi bas sada hai.
There are screams and cries all around the world
Some cry out of destituteness and some of hunger
Some complain of deceipt and fraud
From all corners, thus is all the calling…
Verse 13:
Jaga Ji Lagaanay Ki Dunya Nahi Hai,
Yeh ibrat ki jah hai tamasha nahi hai.
World is not a place of heartly affiliations
This is a place of heed, it is not a jest…

Sultan Bahu

1*"Ae tann mera chashma ho'wey
Maen murshid vekh na rajjaan hu

Loon loon de mud lakh lakh chashma
Hik kholaan, hik kajjaan hu

Itna dittheya sabar na aave
Hor kitey vall bhajjaan hu

Murshid da deedar hai Baahu
Mainnu lakh karordaan hajjaan hu"

(Were my whole body festooned with eyes,
I would gaze at my Master with untiring zeal.

O, how I wish that every pore of my body Would turn into a million eyes –
Then, as some closed to blink, others would open to see!

But even then my thirst to see him Might remain unquenched.
What else am I to do?

To me, O Bahu, a glimpse of my Master is worth millions of pilgrimages to the holy Ka’ba!)

-Hazrat Sultan Bahu (Urs on 1st Moharram)
